DESCRIPTION
Perennial, small or medium (ha 15-70 cm) herbaceous plant of the licorice family.
Rhizome creeping. Stem hollow, erect or elevated, simple or branched at the base,
sparsely hairy with downward hairs. Flowers in tufts in upper leaf axils.
The fruit is a drupe of gray, grooved nuts.
COLLECTION
Blooms from May to October. A species of Eastern European and Western Asian
origin, which is now widespread throughout Europe. In Latvia, often throughout the
territory. Drugs (flowers, leaves) are collected during flowering.
Flowers and leaves contain essential oils, vitamin C, flavonoids, choline, glycosides,
carotene.
USE OF
Tea is used in the case of respiratory tract and digestive tract disorders, when there
is internal organ bleeding, urinary bladder and excretory tract diseases, as a
sedative for insomnia, anemia, as a "blood purifier" for purulent skin inflammations,
eczema, urticaria.
Externally, cool compresses are used to heal wounds and burns.
Due to its pleasant taste, tea is used daily, it improves appetite. It is recommended
to use this tea after beating. Preparation of tea: pour 200 ml of hot water over 10 g of
the drug and leave for 10-15 minutes.
Used as an infusion for watering the body, for cosmetic purposes.
